NASHVILLE AND THE INDIAN FEST October 30-31

I never been to Indian fest before, so I wanted to see what is it looks like. From the AD I was reading online it was looks like pretty exciting. It was held in Wartburg, TN which is not too far from New York
City. When I was arrived the weather wasn’t too good. It was drizzling all day so I didn’t know what could’ve I expect. When I arrived Ive seen it held in a building. What a disappointment. I walked in, and it
was like a big basketball field a few stand and some music on and couple of fake Indians were wondering in the middle of the basketball field. I was so deeply disappointed. If I were an Indian I would’ve been so proud of it and exactly that was I expecting to see, but I did not see that at all. Instead a fake festival and some people whom looking the same thing I was looking.

After about an hour of waiting a group of Indian started to group up in the middle of the field. Looked like some kind of ritual. I was asking around it turned out they were Aztecs. Quickly I goggled their
culture, to understand their dancing and music. Their music was so catching, it was taking me into it. But it was all about death. The drummers had skulls on their head, some of them had a skull and on the top of the skull had a baby skull. And looked like a couple of dancers truly believed in their faith-dance, a true Aztec Indian and felt like they would eat me if I would meet them in the wild. The clots, the feathers, and rituals dance and music was so real, so beautiful and disturbing at the same time, I could say with a single word that it was so pagan, that made me think: when the Spanish conquistadors arrived to Aztec land, today’s Mexico, and saw them sacrificing people alive and seen them to dance the same exact dance during sacrificial of hundreds or thousand of people on a single day, what the Spanish thought and felt? Same as me? That this is a beautiful and disturbing music and dance? It was weird. Because I completely understood the Aztecs that this ritual drums made them trance that is in their guts, and blood, something similar was with the Huns and Hungarians thousands years ago and its still in my guts, but I’m Christian
and civilized that much to not to like it but I still feel the drums calling me.
This was going for over an hour and I could not take my eyes off from these Aztecs especially from that girl who really enjoyed the dance. I believe she truly believed in it. I’m so happy I came to this Indian
dance festival, because I never would have these feelings come up and make me thing and feel this way.Unfortunately I couldn’t stray on the Inca’s dance, I feel so sorry to miss that, because now I don’t know
what I missed, if their dance would make me feel the same way or some other way? There is only one way to learn that, I will come some other time.

So I left for Nashville. This was almost Halloween, that holiday I hate the most, but Nashville loves it.The Broadway was closed and bar buses were riding, hundreds maybe thousand of people on the streets
and bars and restaurants. Some people were dancing on the street front of the bars because the windows were open and love country or blues music you could hear it just as much as in the bar. The nightlife of Nashville is so great, its alive its one of the most fun city you can get to.
After checking n the hotel and next day driving back t home.
