CORAL PINK SAND DUNES
This small state park is very unique for a several reasons. First, the sand of this dunes are very interesting color. Its Coral Pink but what is coral pink? I cant explain this color, but its just so nice, cant get bored with this park. maybe the closest color would be salmon pink. Also this park gives a home to a very predeclare bug, the tiger beetle. This small beetle can find only in this park in the entire world.
Activities:
There is a several activities in this park, such as sandboarding, which is only costs $25 a board. plus $10/vehicle entrance fee. Also you can rent ATV or other off road vehicle to run over these sand dunes. If you obsessed with hiking, you can hike in the park and enjoy the scenery, there are hiking trails as well. If you are from another country, you ca send your send sample, they collect it and exhibit. Also you can camp here. They have a different kind of campsites on pretty good price. Photography is the other good idea here, especially before people start using the ATVs and the sand is still smooth everywhere. You can see the bug tracks and also the sunrise or the sunset just amazing here with the reflection on the coral pink sand. I cant get enough the view with the park.
The park is dog friendly so its a good vacation place for a day for a family as well. children will enjoy the park, just as you can see on the video I made…
Near by… A lots of good sites available from here. Such as Zion National Park, Sand Caves, Dragon’s Belly and so on. South Utah is a great location to spend you vacation, so you wont be bored.
If you’re an animal lover, you will be surprised how many different kind of animals living within the dunes. The ring-tailed cat, mule deer, black-tailed rabbit, coyote, fox, mountain lion, bobcat and the cottontail, but you can meet with snakes like king snake, Sonoran lyre snake. For me the most interesting is fact is the Coral Pink Tiger beetle, since this small state park is the only environment in the entire world that such a bug exists.
I was lucky, because last time I came here it was the desert flower bloom, which made the dunes look happier. A year ago I was camp out here and the sunset was gorgeous, but I wish I could’ve stay here for the night when the flowers looming and see the sunset with the flowers.
