Center of the World
Did you ever thought the center of the world is in South California? I mean, I don’t know how a globe can have a center, but hey! … in Cali we have one! And I visited there.
I wanted to spend the night around Salton Lake, and I drove from Palm Spring, CA all the way to town that sounds good and rich, its called Mecca. When I’ve got to the “city center” I felt I crossed the border and I’m in Mexico. I didn’t wish to spend the night here because I was planning to sleep in my car. So I was driving further south bu the lake all the way to Salton, and I realized its got going to be any better, so I’ve turned around and drove up north to I-10 where I’ve found a truck stop, and I spent th night there. Next morning I got back on the road, and when I reached Mecca, I used rte 86 I reached I-8 and very it was taking me straight to the Center of the World.
It was more than interesting to see what there. I didn’t know what can I expect, beside the pyramid I’ve seen online, there is a lots of granite table with written and drawn information in it. But not just a simple information of the United States, or the native nations, or just natural history… here everything that you would think is important in the world, is written and drawn into this granite tables.
Such as teachers of the Princeton university, the first Helicopter flights, about the Attila the Hun, all the larger religion, about Jesus and the Bible, about how many pilots exited back about a 100 years ago, and so on and so on about music, about history, about animals and plants, the oceans , the solar system and more.
I was walking and reading in for hours in the 105 degrees dry heat without have a tiny bottles water. Everything was closed near by. And all these in the California desert.
